HYPNOTHERAPY
WITH JOANNE FLATT

One-to-one, personalised hypnotherapy in Felsted, Dunmow and Online. Empowering you to make the positive changes you want to make in life.

Some thoughts, feelings and automatic reactions live so deep in our subconscious mind that positive thinking or just talking doesn't quite shift them. That’s where hypnotherapy can be a powerful addition to counselling.

What is hypnotherapy?

Around 90% of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are shaped by your subconscious mind — the part of you that quietly runs in the background, often outside of your everyday awareness. Because of this, it can sometimes feel frustratingly hard to consciously shift the way you think, feel, or react to certain situations.

Hypnotherapy works by using guided relaxation and focused attention to gently open the door to this often elusive part of your mind. Once there, positive, supportive suggestions can be introduced to help you create new, healthier, and kinder patterns in how you think, feel, and respond.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Phobias and specific fears

  • Low confidence and self-esteem

  • Processing the past and enabling emotional healing

  • Preparing for birth

Sometimes hypnotherapy is woven into counselling work, where it feels helpful. Other times, it’s a stand-alone tool we might use for something specific like a fear of flying, fear of spiders or emetophobia. Either way, it’s always tailored to you.

How does it work?

  1. Make an enquiry — Get in touch via the contact form or by emailing me directly.

  2. No obligation intro call — Availability permitting, I’ll offer you a free, no-pressure 15-minute intro call to chat about what’s going on and how we might work together.

  3. Book online — If we both feel we’re a good fit and you’d like to continue, you’ll get a link to my online booking page where you can check my availability and book your sessions. Session prices are listed clearly on my fees page.

  4. Initial session — Our first 50-minute session is a chance for us to get to know each other, talk through what’s brought you here, and think about what you’d like to be different. You can ask any questions you have what counselling might involve.

  5. Ongoing therapy sessions — Ongoing sessions are led by you and what you need on the day. Some weeks you might arrive with a long list of things to unload, other weeks you might just need a calm, quiet space to land. It’s all welcome.
