COUNSELLING
WITH JOANNE FLATT

One-to-one, professional counselling, offering you a safe, supportive space to talk, untangle what’s going on, and start feeling a little lighter.

Life can be messy, complicated and downright overwhelming at times. Whether it’s anxiety, low mood, family stress or just that heavy sense of “something’s not right”, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Counselling offers you a confidential, non-judgemental space to say the things you might not be able to say anywhere else, and gently explore what’s going on underneath it all.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy that gives you space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive, understanding environment. It’s not about fixing you — it’s about making sense of how life has shaped you, how you’re feeling now, and working out what you need moving forward.

We’ll go at your pace, talking about what matters to you. Some days that might be the big, difficult things. Other days, it might be a good old vent. It all matters.

What can counselling help with?

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes it’s something big and obvious, other times it’s a vague sense that things just don’t feel okay.

I typically support people with:

  • Anxiety, panic and overwhelm

  • Low mood and depression

  • Confidence and self-esteem struggles

  • Loss

  • Stress and burnout

  • Difficult family or relationship dynamics

  • Feeling stuck, lost or numb

  • Processing difficult past experiences

  • Navigating the perinatal period through pregnancy, birth and postnatal

And sometimes, it’s simply about having a space where you don’t have to put on a brave face.

How does it work?

  1. Make an enquiry — Get in touch via the contact form or by emailing me directly.

  2. No obligation intro call — Availability permitting, I’ll offer you a free, no-pressure 15-minute intro call to chat about what’s going on and how we might work together.

  3. Book online — If we both feel we’re a good fit and you’d like to continue, you’ll get a link to my online booking page where you can check my availability and book your sessions. Session prices are listed clearly on my fees page.

  4. Initial session — Our first 50-minute session is a chance for us to get to know each other, talk through what’s brought you here, and think about what you’d like to be different. You can ask any questions you have what counselling might involve.

  5. Ongoing therapy sessions — Ongoing sessions are led by you and what you need on the day. Some weeks you might arrive with a long list of things to unload, other weeks you might just need a calm, quiet space to land. It’s all welcome.

Not sure if it’s for you?

That’s completely fine. You don’t need to have the words for what’s wrong — you just need to know you don’t want to keep feeling this way. Drop me a message and we’ll have a friendly, no-pressure chat.
