REWIND THERAPY
If your pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, or postnatal experience felt distressing or traumatic, and you're struggling to move on, you're not alone—and things can feel better. Whether you felt out of control and overwhelmed at the time, or you're now left feeling anxious or stuck replaying what happened in your mind, help is available.
I offer gentle, therapeutic support using the Rewind Technique—a safe, effective process designed to help reduce the emotional intensity of distressing memories related to birth, pregnancy, or early parenthood, without needing to relive the experience in detail.
The Rewind process works by helping the brain reprocess the memory so it no longer triggers the same emotional or physical response. It can bring relief from common symptoms such as flashbacks, anxiety, disturbed sleep, or avoiding anything that reminds you of what happened.
Many people describe feeling calmer, lighter, and more like themselves again after just a few sessions. If your experience has left you feeling shaken, stuck, or emotionally overwhelmed, the Rewind Technique could help you move forward with a greater sense of ease, confidence, and inner calm.

About
Rewind Therapy
What is the Rewind Technique?
----------
The Rewind Technique is a gentle, safe, and effective way to reduce the emotional impact of upsetting or traumatic memories—without needing to go over them in detail. It's often used to support people who are struggling after difficult experiences during pregnancy, birth, or early parenthood.
This approach is based on neuroscience, and uses a combination of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and deep relaxation to help your brain file the memory in a different way—so it no longer feels as raw, intense, or distressing. Many people find it helps them feel calmer, more grounded, and able to move forward.
Who is it for?
----------
The Rewind Technique may be helpful if you’ve had an experience that still feels heavy or hard to process, such as:
-
Your birth or postnatal experience felt overwhelming or out of your control
-
You're having trouble thinking or talking about what happened
-
You feel anxious, on edge, or disconnected
-
You are experiencing flashbacks, disturbed sleep, or avoiding reminders of what happened
-
Feeling stuck, anxious, or “not like yourself” since the experience
This support is open to birth partners and loved ones, too—anyone who’s been emotionally affected by what they went through or witnessed.
If you’re experiencing more complex PTSD or ongoing difficulties the Rewind Technique my not be suitable. Please get in contact to discuss.
What to expect
----------
The Rewind Technique usually takes place over three sessions. We begin with a gentle, open conversation about what’s been difficult and how you’d like things to feel. There’s no need to go into all the details of what happened—just what feels comfortable for you.
Then, using guided relaxation, we revisit the memory in a calm and safe way. This helps your brain reprocess the experience so it no longer triggers the same emotional or physical response.
Finally, we focus on how you want to feel going forward—building a picture of life beyond the memory, with more calm, confidence, and connection.
